Fay is a Master stylist, colorist and aesthetician with over 35 years experience in the beauty industry. Trained in London and Bournemouth her hometown, Fay owned and managed salons in the UK and earned the coveted Hairdressers Guild Award as well as training and competing on a National level in Hair Competitions.

Fay and her husband Tony (a master carpenter) then took a leap of faith coming to America with only $6,000 and two suitcases to pursue her dream of opening a salon in Santa Barbara.

After establishing a clientele in Santa Barbara Fay and Tony opened Underground Hair Artists, which has won many awards including Top 200 Salons in America (twice), The Best Of Santa Barbara Independent Award and Fay herself The Spirit of Entrepreneurship Award.

Fay constantly trains her staff and has mentored many who have gone on to own their own businesses and salons or become celebrity stylists. Underground attends advanced academies and trade shows in both hair and skincare to learn the latest advances and techniques. UHA is a member of the Professional Beauty Association and the Hairbrained.me community. 

Since its inception Fay has used UHA as a vehicle to raise money for various charities such as Transition House Homeless Family Shelter, local schools and the Cancer Center.

Fay has created her own haircare line Underground Culture to blend two of her passions, hair and philanthropy.This botanical, cruelty free line raises money by donating $1 of every full size product sold to Youth Music, Arts and Culture. The primary recipient is Notes for Notes music studios in the Boys and Girls Clubs.

Fay's other interests are painting, Martial Arts (she ia a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Hapkido)and watching live music and theater.
